ABOUT ME
Born in Dominican Republic, Angely Martinez is an award-winning jewelry designer and metalsmith based in New York City. Her work is influenced by the beauties of nature and the world of fantasy with a touch of Romanticism and the Baroque. These are themes that she has been obsessed with since childhood.
She draws inspiration from the Baroque period, Rococo, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Museum Walks, and films. Her favorite artists/ designers are Thierry Mugler, Alexander McQueen, Fragonard, Rembrandt, and Erte.
Previously, she worked as a Seasonal Production Jeweler at Ten Thousand Things and WWAKE, and was also Junior Goldsmith at Reinstein Ross. She's a former participant of Bijules Incubator, a talent development program, where she built her debut collection, VERMILLION.
In 2020, she co-authored the BIPOC Open Letter along with 30+ jewelers, detailing guidelines and a call-to-action for opportunities to be created for BIPOC Jewelers and Professionals.
Angely graduated from the FIT's Jewelry Design Program in 2018. She also holds a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing from LIU - Brooklyn.
