As I marked my 6th Anniversary this November 2024, I’m taking a look back at Angely Martinez: an Exhibition of 5 Years, hosted during NYC Jewelry Week 2023.
The exhibition highlighted my foundation as a designer starting in alternative materials, my progression into base metals and silver, and most recently, my current fine jewelry collection, where my work is headed. Looking back at everything put together, I realized the themes of nature and fantasy have always been key in my vision, whether I worked in vinyl, silver , gold or diamonds. I love it all.
The exhibition took 10 months to come into fruition, with the guidance of Lorraine West of Lorraine West Jewelry and the ladies behind NYC Jewelry Week, Bella Neyman, JB Jones and Chantel Gushue. It was a labor of love, but everything came out exactly like I imagined it. So thankful for their help.
I am incredibly grateful for The HERE WE ARE Exhibition Award, sponsored by David Yurman. The $5000 grant provided me the opportunity to create the show and bring my vision to life.
